Equine Therapy Training J Larry Newton School

J Larry Newton Elementary School Peer Helpers had a fun day of training with Kara Whatley and the rest of the Equine Therapy Group crew! Equine Therapy’s vision is that every person who would benefit from therapy will have access to equine therapeutic activities provided by licensed professionals in an environment that inspires hope and encourages them to overcome life’s challenges. These Peer Helpers not only assist classmates by listening empathetically, providing options for making healthy choices, becoming advocates, and helping them get involved in campus life.  In the process of helping others improve their self-esteem, Peer Helpers can themselves become leaders and role models.
